2. Hosting and server log files

When you open this website, your browser sends technical data automatically: IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, and browser and operating system details (user agent). The server needs this data to deliver the page and to keep operations secure; the web server does not write it to access logs. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure and stable operation).

The website is hosted on a server of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, in the Falkenstein data center (Germany). A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider; under it, the processing takes place exclusively in a member state of the European Union or the European Economic Area.

The web server keeps no access logs and no statistics. Technical system and error logs of the server (for example failed connection attempts) can contain IP addresses; they are kept for four weeks at most, are used only to operate and secure the server, and are not combined with other data. The provider's technical and organizational measures are described in Hetzner, technical and organizational measures (opens in a new tab) (PDF, in English).

4. Contacting me

If you write to me by email or call me, I process your details (for example name, email address, content of your message) to answer your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where a contract or pre-contractual measures are concerned, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. I delete the data once your request is dealt with and no statutory retention obligations apply.

5. Links to other websites

This website links to external pages (for example articles, LinkedIn, GitHub). Simply visiting this website transfers no data to them. Only when you click a link do the privacy rules of that website apply.

6. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). Just contact me at the address above.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg (Der Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg, baden-wuerttemberg.datenschutz.de).
